HALT.

Last night was wonderful.

Vintage antique shopping followed by some much needed girl time with my girl, N. N decided to use up the last bit of her chicken for the dinner (great idea) and finish the batch of baby potatoes (greater idea !). N cooking? This means one thing: high anticipation for all involved.

Great conversations, yummy nibbles (thanks to my guacamole and N's fabulous onion marinade chicken and potatoes) and fabulous company.

Sounds like a friggin' good night to me, no?

Exercise / Training

Running has been going extremely well. I have seen a lot of progress in stamina and endurance. I'm trying my best to incorporate weight training in my regime as well to strengthen all of the major muscle groups (especially the legs and back/arms).
This will improve my performance immensely.

I ran from monday to wednesday, did a cross fit exercise (cycling) on thursday and had a full rest yesterday. Back to running today. I'm thinking about a long and moderate run for the evening after work. (Moderate meaning keeping my heart rate at 164-178).

I'm also VERY excited to use this audio coaching program my friend, Jon, sent me the other day. I love that I found him on twitter and kept pestering him with questions. :P
It paid off in the end and he's provided me with a great deal of knowledge/information about running. Thanks Jon!

Canapés and a cosmopolitan kind of night...

Today was a tiring and productive day indeed: Cranked out the attitude and make up to do my best job on my first day at my new job, worked 8 hours, came home to an apartment filled with the smell of delicious toasty canapes in the oven.

I came home to realize that it was a little birthday pow-wow for my sister so imagine a saturday night with canape, my homemade risotto simmering on the stove and some delicious pink cocktails.

Girl talk, giggles, and cosmos galore.

A little preview of our canapes we devoured.

Anticipating work on monday, marathon research and running tomorrow and getting my schedule back on track this coming week.

Now, I'm off to make some crafty drinks and talk. We are definitely talking about some sexual experiences and it's getting good now...so I have to go.

PS. I make killer cosmos. (As the crowd says.)

Beach day

Let's face it. It's June and the sun is ready to make a full-time appearance from now on. This, in turn, means that it's time to get those cute and skimpy bikinis and hit the beach.

With coming back from New York, dealing with my struggles, training and readjusting my diet to a vegan diet, my weight's been all over the place.

Up, down, tears, up, sweat, up, down, up, up.
And now it's at a very high number and I still haven't been able to kick that nasty "weigh myself every morning" habit to the curb.

I know I need to fix this habit, no matter how hard it is. I just cannot deal with the havoc it wreaks on my psyche, shattering it to bits and creating frustration for no reason.

...Anyways, I've been doing well with the eating. Vegan, still.

Planning to pack a delicious stir-fry rice mix for lunch for the beach today. Going to venture around Kitsilano with a friend and have a picnic on the beach.

This is what I had yesterday for lunch and I can't wait to taste it again:

Green Monster smoothie and veggie burger with sauteed tomatoes, 1/2 avocado on a bed of sauteed spinach. (I used tomato slices as buns instead of actual bread to save calories.)

It was so, so good.

I've already done so much this morning. Felt like a sexy minx after my run too.

To do today:
- Run 2.5 miles
- Return some library books
- Go buy cereal
- Create menu for sister's birthday dinner
- Make new playlist for workout mix
- Clean apartment
- Beach day with friend

Enjoy your day. I sure will.

It's Fresh

Today is a busy day indeed. I leave for New York City tomorrow morning at 4:00AM. I'm in frenzy packing mode or at least I need to be for the whole day; I have not even touched my closet. Procrastination is like masturbation...You'll love it until you realize you've f@#*ed yourself.

I'm going to have to step up my game all day.

De-stressing myself with a huge bowl of cereal (banana, raisins, almond milk and Nature's Path Synergy cereal)

Must do list:
- Clean house
- Do a f*#$ load of laundry (sorry, I'm stressed and it's barely 7:30 in the morning)
- Copy down addresses/phone numbers of friends in NYC
- Finish itinerary list
- Pick out outfits
- Paint cards/gifts for family in NYC
- Pick up things from friend in New Westminster
- PACK
- Finish workout plan for the two weeks in NYC

Okay, I can't write anymore. I'll probably update later but right now, I have to go rummage through my closet for something NYC appropriate (Who knows what that means).

Loving this: Quality time with quality people. Like last night.

Loving this 2: My best friend was wearing something absolutely adorable yesterday. I inquired where she got the cute zip up jumper and I was startled by her response, "Superstore!" New fashion tidbit: There's a brand called "Joe Fresh" that's sold in Superstores. Upon research, I found out it's a Canadian label. The brand develops clothes (women, kids, men), intimates, swimwear, sunglasses, cosmetics and more. I am definitely checking this brand out when I come back.

Here's a sample:
Affordable, versatile and chic.

Loving this 3: I'm going to squeeze in some crunches (leg lift crunches, bicycle crunches, regular crunches) and push-ups.

Not loving this: The fact that I impulsively bought bananas yesterday. Now I'm left with 5 bananas I have to finish in a day. Smoothies for the whole day I guess.

Not loving this: I've worked out for two weeks now with only one rest day a week. Today's supposed to be my rest day but I REALLY want to go running. I know today's well deserved since my legs are incredibly sore today but I dislike having this urge to go sprint.

Not loving this 2: (6:07PM) I hate packing. Hate. Abhor. Detest. Loathe. That is all.

Friday Fever

I don't get that itch anymore. That ITCH to go out to the bar or an event on weekends. It's not that I don't want to, it's just that I've become so accustomed to being low-key these past four weeks. I haven't been drinking in four weeks.

The reasons are simple:
a) My liver is thanking me and will have to return the gratitude by letting me have my ways in NYC (and this weekend)
b) Health. Drinking and the day after always gets me in a pickle. I lose my sense of routine and control.
c) Money. Enough said.

Tomorrow shall be a grand old time. A night of debauchery with my girls. It's kind of my "going away" soiree. Needless to say, we may drop by George (where it is a requirement for the bartenders to be attractive) and then just hop from bar to lounge. All I require is a good time, good music and vodka martinis, please.

Anyways, I'm going to finish this post, drink my coffee, catch up with my favourite blogs, then go for my run.
Workout today:
- 2.0 miles (At incline 7-15)
- 30 crunches
- 30 chest flies
- 30 leg lift crunches
- 30 bicycle crunches
- 10 push ups
******ran outside instead- 7.08 km run

I also need to add that my thoughts are already bloated with arousal, racing through the endless possibilities of what to devour for lunch. I went grocery shopping yesterday night and bought deliciously fresh and organic vegetables. Hummus. Flax bread. Almond butter. Almond milk.

Here's what I had for lunch yesterday. Simple and good:

Almond butter, whole wheat bread, cinnamon sprinkled apples. Green Monster Smoothie.

Loving this: Stumbling upon old tunes on your playlist. Remember the days when Linkin Park was cool? Well, STILL IS. I love them along with Perfect Circle, Tool and Nine Inch Nails. How can you not? They're all sexy bands with a wide selection of sex(y) songs.

Loving this 2: The weather. The sun showers are kissing every inch of my apartment. Loving this a lot. Also going to take advantage and run on the seawall (thanks for the push, N!)

Loving this 3: I mapped my run on this website I just discovered. But I will also make note to get a pedometer. (unless someone wants to get little old me a pretty pedometer...)

Not loving this: I imagine this is what tar tastes like. Don't look at me, I blame my coffee machine entirely. Heh....
